Welcome to the California ICD-10 Collaborative website.
The California ICD-10 Collaborative is a statewide consortium of California healthcare providers, payers, professional organizations and vendors that have agreed to form in order to increase efficiencies and reduce the significant time and costs associated with ICD-10 compliance for the California healthcare industry. Its mission is to bring healthcare stakeholders together to work collectively to ensure the successful integration and implementation of ICD-10.

The Collaborative had its first Membership Community Webinar in February 2013 which was open to non-members. Presentation slides are available on the following link:
Associations currently working with the California ICD-10 Collaborative:
- California Association of Health Plans
- California Association of Physician Groups
- California Health Information Association
- California Hospital Association
- Integrated Healthcare Association
Employees of professional organizations, including associations and professional societies, may participate in the collaborative. Members of professional organizations who are not employees of the professional organization, association, or society, need to join the collaborative separately in order to participate and/or access member-only documents.
About ICD-10
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a final rule as part of the administrative simplification regulation under the health reform law which requires use of ICD-10 code sets and extends the date to comply to October 1, 2014. The ICD-10 code sets include new codes for medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures that improve the quality of information available for quality improvement and payment purposes.
